it's for my sampler for surface design. some are embroidering political statements on breast feeding friendly evening gowns, some are doing tiny intricate peices, and I sort of took on a big peice 4 x 5 ' or so, with these little graphics all around the edge.

i'm kind of notorious for starting about 3 different things before committing. I guess I'll probably work on series of things later on.

The second piece is on beauty. I won't submit it for marks, but I'll complete it sometime. I've been asking friends, family and colleagues what is beautiful to them. The comments have been really diverse and bright.

I think I will do this kind of thing when I get a little bogged. It's nice to draw inspiration from the ideas around and to collect and dwell a little on them. One friend said, she'd yet to come to terms with it yet; another said: whatever is REAL; Abby's was one of my favorities...i'll wait to show you hers. Matthew said simply: the smell of beeswax.

I was thinking about maybe doing a sweet little linen collection with some of these images as pocket patches, perhaps. I like to work in linen.

well, thanks guys for the comments. i'm having a pretty good time. learning lots.
